Well, out of the 7 characters I created in the past two days, I think I finally found three that I'm going to stick with.
DracoInferno: lvl 44 blade
Mae: lvl 58 red mage
MaliceJackal: lvl 13 archer

Could anyone tell all the types of classes there are?
I think I'm planning to get this game but the site gives me little info on classes and equipment.
I'm planning to stick with something close ranged, anyone have a good suggestion for what close range class starting out?

Blade or fist is what I'm thinking,
But when ppl say like red mage and stuff, does that mean there's like a job tree?

Yo Toternator to answer ur question... their are four basic classes

BladeWarior- Where you use a blade... which is preaty obvious. and use blade skills, you chose this from the begining. They tend to be slower then fist but for the most part are stronger. You also can chose the path of a fast or strong blade pending on blade and armor.

Fist Wariors-
are quicker and more agile but also have strong but slow attacks and fast but weak like warior pending on gauntlet and armor.

Mage attacks as a hole are stronger for short range attacks and weaker for long range.

Blue Mage- its your basic magic class that uses ice atacks. You do have the choice to up eitheir black or white as well and use diffrent skills Pending on which one you raise. Black is for debuff skills like slow and take away armor buffs and so on and so forth

Red Mage
- can eithier do fire damage(RED) or you can become a yellow mage and have buff skills, but a yellow mage dosenot attack unless u add to Red magic for attack.

Their is somewhat of a skill tree but u dont have to follow any pacific path you choose what u want to up yourself.

Srry for any errors made. I am still getting used to the open beta.

Toat check your junk email, thats where turfbattles mail goes.

The game is the same as knight online, just a lil better idea and pvp.

However, the controls and look of it all are dreadful. Picking up the loot is impossible, takes me 10 minutes to get one of them.

Running around is hard, there are 45703857430 different controls to change my view and direction, its messed up.

Attacking is too hard, you also can't see the HP of the monster so you never know how far they are from dying.

Hopefully

1) I get guildwars for christmas
2) my computer can handle guildwars :-p

For now I'll stick with knight online, just because I haven't had many problems with the GM's and such, and I am used to buggy games.

If the usage of turfbattles becomes easier I will easily switch to that.

one tip for picking up items. left SHIFT will pick up the closest available item.
as for controls, yeah some of it needs a little work.
as for graphics, definately not the best.
as for monster hp, it's more realistic.
as for guild wars, awesome game. enjoy.

Ahh I wish I knew the shift thing haha, that makes it a hell of a lot easier.

Also, do I get the same amount of XP from a monster as level 1 and as level 10?

yes, i believe so. the game is based on amount of damage dealt. so if you kill a small monster, you will get less xp only because it has less max hp.

Well the thing is, I checked both my junk e-mails but they were empty, so I dunno what's going on here...
