I'ma post my own maps that I've made, they are of course maps that already exists and they are "stolen". I've taken a known map and improved it. No names are mentioned anywhere but in History. The map is as uncheated as I wanted to make it (my best :P) and I do not have to obey the map rules*, that's what I did with GameSpy Version's.

*E.g. in AA I moved Blue base to Yellow which changes the game play

  • Terrain fixed + cleaned
  • No King Island

Takes a whole lot more time and dedication to make a map then simply edit it...
I sure hope you're leaving peoples titles of creating it and just adding that you edited them...

I'm removing everything, including my own name.

The only place left where you can see who made it and who edited it and so on is in History. I name the names that I got from the map as makers and myself as Editor.

The reason I call them my maps is cause I change some stuff e.g. removed Scorpion in DS. Some people might say that was part of the game, but that's why they are my versions. When I made GameSpy Versions I tried to make the map like the original one, just uncheated, now I decide how it looks.

But hey, I'm not looking for fags trying to call my maps bad just cause they are stolen. They are improvements and no one has to use them. <_<
and no, I'm not calling you a fag.

I'd rather want this topic to be about the maps; good?, bad?, bad triggers?, request? (and so on) >_<

That map is the most cheated map I've ever seen, it's not cheated like blue gets units faster for less kills. It's triggers that only the maker could know, e.g. if you put a swordman at a special spot you get upgrades. Another one is if you put Chu on spawn you get Chemistry, lots of these things. The cheats are for all colors, so they aint really cheats but in the other hand there is no info anywhere on how to activate them. The map got 500 triggers I think.

I also noticed the guy who made Machine Blood also made the cheated version of Small Blood Acc.

Winter Blood 4P is finished.
I've done a lot of changes to it though, I've never liked how you get huskarl after Two-Handed Swordsman and Elite Huskarl after Teutonic Knight. So I check a bit who beats who and changed it.
Code:
0 - Man-at-Arms
100 - Huskarl
200 - Two-Handed Swordsman
300 - Elite Huskarl
400 - Champion + Feudal Age
500 - Teutonic Knight
600 - Elite Samurai + Castle Age
700 - Elite Teutonic Knight

I spoke to Rixster and he explained what kind of cheaty sab Sexy was talking about and I'm not going to remove that. In order to remove it I would either have to put red base next to blue, switch red base to the side (like a +) or make both bases sideways. I'm not interested in moving the bases too much, cause that would change the game too much, Winter wouldn't be Winter but Infantry Blood or something else.

The Archers Advance map has been updated to have the same Highscores at start, new map name is Archers Advance - 1v1 - Perfect~[1,0]

Winter Blood 2P added (PoGi Version)
Winter Blood 4P has been updated, I noticed one trigger wrong and some other stuff wrong. The name has been changed to Winter Blood - 4P - Perfect 1,0
Archers Advance has also been changed so that you have the same score at start, the new name of the map is Archers Advance - 1v1 - Perfect~[1,0]

Hawk Blood + Cavalry Blood are finished but I'm going to talk to DemiGod before I post them.

i havent played in forever but ds was on of my favorite maps and it sounds totally cool how you fixed it.. i always wanted to fix maps when i had time to play haha but never did and :-p my only 2 maps were fun but most people thought they were dumb because they had no triggers and was mostly strategy haha and speed somewhat like dm hornies and pirate blood haha

Winter Blood 2P has been updated thanks to Unit and Sexy testing it and noticing Feudal Age for Player 2 wasn't working, that is now fixed and the map is renamed to Winter Blood - 2P - Perfect 1,0
(Winter 4P did not have this problem)

Small Blood - 8P - Perfect is now finished

the whole time i played aok my view of "fair" was simple - if everyone can do it, it's fair.
it seemed to hold true as well. even "hidden" things, as long as everyone could do em', would quickly be discovered and everyone would be doin them.
take patrol in aok as an example. the way blooders use patrol is not what was intended (just look at aoc and how it was "fixed"), yet everyone has picked up on it and it's just become a part of the game, and it's not unfair because everyone can do it.
all the small tricks in holy blood came together to bring about a sense of magic in the map. uncovering different things one game at a time - the small hidden things, the amazing terrain and the voices that are so unique to holy blood were what made the map go beyond the formulaic style of 90% of blood maps around. few blood maps truely felt epic, felt big, and holy blood was perhaps the most epic ever made.
and jihad was one of the coolest guys i ever had the privelidge of getting to know on the zone

as you can see i'm already gettin caught up in nostelgia so sorry if i'm a bit touchy with you "fixing" it, and like i said i can't do anything about it anyway.
its probably hypocritical of me to be critisizin what you doin anyway, since fixin and standardizing aok maps was something i had always wanted and tried to do; you're doin the same and it's good to see someone's still got some time for this old dog of a game.
you're lucky too, you got better tools then i had to work with (i hear you can copy/paste triggers now? man i REALLY coulda used that kinda **** when dragging my ass along modifying the same basic trigger like 600 times)

Sorry but that was total bull****, you can't compare it with Patrol or the stances.

In Holy Blood you are meant to put Sheriff of Nottingham (which you always delete) and put them on spots you wouldn't walk past unless you were going to that location. Then even if you did pick the correct unit and walk on the correct spot you're unlikely to notice anything because that trigger removes the sabs to either your left or right.
The spots are not market with anything and are therefore impossible to know about unless you're very lucky, you're the maker or if you like me; checked the scenario out.

If the spots had flags on them, then I could agree with the comparison of Patrol. Cause in AoK even if the stances are put off, you can still see the button where you click them on.


About that program, I don't use it.

ok, so sure - only the maker or people who have poked around the triggers would find out about this stuff.
so, most players won't know about these secrets, and will just play normally.
if by chance someone discovers one of those secrets, and uses it in game, it will very quickly become known (replays, word of mouth etc.) and then everyone will know about it, and the game is just as fair.
i think the patrol example i used was fine myself.. i mean, when i first started playing aok i didn't know about patrol so i was repeatedly ripped up by people who knew about it.
am i crying about how that was unfair? no - because i too had the opportunity to do patrol.

and i would highly recommend any program that lets you copy/paste triggs. make a backup of the map ur editing before you start tho cuz they're probably bugged as all hell. if it wasn't for the zone closing and me discovering other game engines with far more interesting map editors, i woulda definitely gotten back into aok map making with the ability to copy/paste triggs

I'd still call that cheated, if only host knows about it and makes all triggers invisible to make it harder to find the "secrets", then he knows how to win which we don't. What I just said might sound like your patrol thingy but it aint, the patrol is there and anyone can learn about it if they click on the button or ask a majority of people. This secret is only known by the host, so he can win his games.

I talked to Army and he thought it was an "interesting" map.
and I've talked to Army about the different versions of Desert Blood. Shady is a version of it, where mongols rules. He also said he'd prefer more units cause that's what he loves. Maybe I'll make another version, who knows

If you don't like them, don't use them.

and I'm at work 9-11 hours a day, so I wouldn't say I edit maps all day.
