Does anyone here have a CLUE how to take apart the GC? Something is wrong with my disk-reading lens; I'm pretty sure that the belt that moves it foward and backward broke. If I could figure out how to open up the system, I would replace it with a rubber band or something, but there seems to be no external screws to open it. Has anyone else run into this problem?

I had that problem long, long ago, I had a warranty thought. So you might have to replace it.

I probably would if I still had a warranty on it, but that expired years ago, and I don't have the money to have it repaired.
After taking apart a CD player, it looks like I was wrong about there being any sort of "belt" that moves the laser. Apparently, it is moved my a motor and a long metal rod shaped like a screw... I think it's called a spindle? Not sure. Has anyone else tried fixing this themselves before?
