If you stop all of your RM'ing, and take a look around, you'll see that several different AoE3 Design Teams are closing their doors and their members moving on. When ES promised a great game, we all were excited, and to know that it was an 'Age' game, it got most of shaking for more footage, more screenshots and more scenario examples before the game actually came out.

I know, that when I say, when the first of AoE3 art came out, I was amazed at the graphics and detail. My eyes were caught instantly, and I wanted to own the game badly. After waiting several months, and much thought into how the game would be like, I decided to finally purchase. In I went into the nearest Best Buy to see the wondrous games on the shelves, and I immedietely bought the one with 3 Roman numerals on the cover of a relatively thick (and promising) game case.

I ran home, installed it, loaded it up, and went straight to the editor which, in past Age games, has been getting bigger and better, and has been providing the life that still fuels past age games today. I clicked away at the menu, and after several minutes, was horribly dissapointed.

What ES gave us was a cheap rip-off version of the AoM editor. It was incomplete, full of many bugs, some disastrous to scenario designing, and maybe worst of all, campaign creation was not included and modding the game was much harder than ever before.

Right from that point, once loyal Age fans, began to leave. I've got proof that a large amount of them have gone to post in other forums and play other computer games. Just look around these forums, and others like AoE3H and the AgeCommunity. See anything? That's right. What was once a bustling community of many hundreds of active forumers, is now a place for the 3 or 4 people who won't and can't give up on the disaster that is AoE3.

Enough is said for now. Think about what ES has done, and how concentrating solely on Random Map style games is killing off the once huge and proud Scenario Design and online play world community.

It sucked from the beginging. They ****ed up in the rush to make a new game becuase they were losing players on an old game.

I didn't like it simply because it was too high tech. Some people may have liked the graphics, but I thought they were too much. You had to have a high tech PC just to play. After playing AOK/AOC I didn't expect everything they put into the game. I'm glad it's dying. Hopefully the players there will come back to AOK/AOC.

AOE III < AOK/AOC anyday.

The best 'AGE' game is definitely AoE2: TC, but that doesn't mean that other Age games can't take over the majority of the fans or move on to better and newer things. AoE3 is very bad, and was rushed. ES only cared about the money, and the game short-term wise. No time is being spent for the other features of the game, just the online RM play.

I'd be very happy if they went back and re-did some or all of AoK by implementing a little better graphics, more units, maybe even another expansion.

Only the future will tell, and the way it's looking now, isn't too good.

aok was simple and graphics weer good enough for what we were doing, aoe3 wit ships or cannons just screws up the average computer.
I was disapointed that good ol CS was pretty much gone, leaving only dm and rm
i agree with making a new vers of aok

You are both right and wrong fox_trot. The majority of the AoE3 community has left. That means, only the die-hard fans, veterans, and some online players are left, and 'part of' AoE3H & AgeCommunity. In AoE3H, most posts come from the Saloon, and SD is practically dead. Check your facts again. Unlike you, I had access to many AoE3 fansites, which have mostly 'shut down' or are really low in activity. Xamo World has just closed its doors, BTW.

Sky, your immaturity and attempt at such a completely random post is not a good way to spread your intelligence, which by the looks of it, is not vast at all.

Have a cup of coffee, go play some AoE3 online, and have a nice day. ^_^

 I see they needed bridges so they can cross over waters and maybe canyons, and a book on how to do the scenario editor, I have asked many times what happened to a booklet for that part of the game and what are all those abriviations stand for example Gaia? VIL? AR? etc.? And how to use triggers as well, and other important things....Strange, I love the game but I still perfer The Sims 2 games...
