That whole question and answer is in the movie it's what the whole movie is about them trying to find the answer to the ultimate question then at the end after the computer spends like 10,000 years calculating the answer he says the answer is 42.

lol i went to the movies a couple of days ago and saw see no evil, there was this drunk dude in the back of the theater screamin and ****... had to get security to take him out :x
