Lots of gamers start new clans daily, but fail to realize what situation they put themselves in. Very few clans survive the first few weeks and even more fail within the next month.

One of the most important parts of being a clan leader is to be active. When you become a clan leader, it’s like starting a job. Just like when you show up to work on a daily basis, you must also login to the game daily. Being active is one of the major ways to show the clan members that you care about them and the clan. It is also so a great way to show the community your clan is great.

However, being active is not always enough to keep the clan active and on going. You will also need to be keep the clan motivated and active. This could mean organizing inside clan tournaments or another type of activity. By keeping your clan active and very involved people will be more likely to join and stay in the clan.

To run a successful clan, you need to also be organized. You will and may need to keep track or member’s emails, tourneys, clan events and other activities that are clan related. An Example would be, keeping an up-to-date clan member list on your clan forums.

Leadership is a very important skill. A clan can’t function unless there is a strong leader. You need to keep in mind that you will be the one making all the calls and clan decisions. You will also take on the tasks of keeping the clan together and dealing with any clan related problems that should arise

Bring a clan leader is not for everyone. For some of us, we may just prefer to be in an active clan as a respected clan member, and avoid all aspects of clan leading. But for those who are up to the challenge, there is no greater reward then to see a well organized clan built.

That was very interesting. I think ill have to take that into thought. Thank you very much i gained a lot of tips from that. Even if im not a leader i can give my leader good tips so the clan can survive.

Lol...you wrote that for school? And you expect people to understand that? They'll probably think that by clan you mean "cult" and fail you.

I have much experience with guilds (clans) in WoW. The succesful guilds that do regular 40 man raids are the guilds with good, well respected leaders. My guild does 40 man raids, clearing all but the hardest raid instance with practiced ease.

The most important thing when starting a guild is that you need to KNOW people. The first members of the guild need to be skilled people that you're familiar with. Half your guild should be there when the guild is founded, and the other half should be people that apply for membership and prove they know what they're doing. The real hardcore guilds all know each other in RL, so that helps alot.

That was some good advise, but I'm a very bad leader, I prefer following directions instead of making them.
Some ppl find mt co-operative.

don't force people to give items or money to you or any other clan member.

ban all scammers, hack users, and other 3rd party program users.

get a clan forum site.

have a TS or vent sever or provider.

always have connections with other higher lvl clans

teach the newbie clan members about the game.

used to be a clan leader myself on kol.
Now one of my members has taken over leadership.
