Hey guys and gals, today I’m going to talk to you about a small Australian band called, Neon. The year 2005 saw the release of Aussie band Neon’s debut album and very first video clip, and all of the success that came with both. They have been around before all of this but were a very little band living off of sales of their EP’s.
I was instantly a fan when I heard/saw their debut video clip, A Man, in Mid-December 2004 when it had Channel [v]’s “Ripe Clip of the Week”. I had no clue when their album was coming out and I’m not normally one to buy singles but I had kept an eye on their website for months and their was still no news on when their album was coming out and I could NOT wait any longer to get my filthy mits on that song. So I went to my local JB hi-Fi and picked up the singles of a measly $2 [what a steal!] Then, I was keeping my eye on the Rage playlists and I noticed that in April of 2005 they had a new song out called Dizziness [let’s all say that together now…Dizzy-Ness] and I loved the song. In June 2005 I was down the street with some friends in our favourite LOCAL record store [We have no JB Hi-Fi Here *tear*] and I saw it in New Releases NEON the self titled debut album…I had no money…Then on July 17th 2005 I finally got it for my sixteenth birthday, I was so happy! Then, early August 2005 they released the third and last single from that Album, it was called friend unfortunately, I never have seen the clip…Maybe someday…
