You have to take the jump..

becuase well if you didnt the other person would take it but really it does not matter as the phsyics off the game well its hard to explain but when you playing it you realise why you must play it thats why i always plan exactly 7 moves ahead 5 is a good place to point towards aswell but i would reccomend 7 but hey only 1 person has ever beat me at checkers and even then they beat me by 1.

what if they choose not to move there back row peices :|

Hmm...that 'not moving my back row' strat isn't going to last long, you'll be forced to do it early in the game. It's either that or you lose the upper hand early in the game. That's not on all checkers, just MSN checkers..and I should know cus I'm like the vogn checkers champ :lol:
