I've been a hardcore Starcraft fan for years now. It's probably the best RTS Blizzard has ever made, good graphics for it's time (1999!!!!).
There are stiill MANY Starcraft players out there. I'm one of them. If you don't have it, GET IT SOMEHOW! It's a great game and WarCraft fans will definately like it.

I used to play starcraft a while ago, I only played on battle.net though.
Use map settings was the best I find but, everything got boring eventually.

yea i play warcraft 3 and when u are n chat you can see many starcraft players i say to be as old as it is its pretty active

Lol yeah, I remember when I was playing WC3, in DOTA there was a Hydralisk :P
I wonder if they'll make WoS (World of Starcraft), or better yet, Starcraft ll!

I heard that starcraft 2 might come out one day with 7 races!
Not too sure cuz one of my friends dad works at a Sony company, and he gets to test out the games, he gets info about other stuff from microsoft and stuff, there's a chance of being a SC2

I know for one thing, one of the races will be a Protoss/Zerg hybrid. You can learn this in the secret mission in Brood War.

That is supposedly starcraft 2, it doesnt look like a mod, but i doubt thats really starcraft 2. Look at the new race though, Hybrids.

The alien races (Protoss and Zerg) ruled, Terrans kinda sucked though.

Also, Starcraft gave birth to the gaming term 'Zerging' i.e. mass lots of a weak unit to win.

My favourite character was probably one of the cerebrates (Zasz or Daggoth) and the overmind was quite good.
For Protoss it would have to be Tassadar. He knows everything and acts in charge

Terrans I didn't like too much (as stated before) but favourite char was probably Edmund Duke.

*Humvee driving through wasteland, some guitar music is playing*
Lester: Sarge, why is this crap on?
Sarge: Because I'm in charge.
*Humvee hits a grasshopper like creature which jumped out into the road (Zergling), two marines step out of the Humvee to examine*
Lester: Looks like you killed someones dog, Sarge. What is it?
Sarge: Thats a Zergling Lester, a weaker type of Zerg, but they don't travel around unless...
*a distinct hissing and growling is heard, Sarge and Lester turn around to see a swarm of hydralisks blocking the way to the Humvee.*
Lester: I love you Sarge.
*Sarge looks at him as though to say 'shut the hell up' but they both get lunged at by the hydralisks, and the scene blacks out, then comes back in again on a torch the marines dropped.*

hehe, one of my favourite scenes, also, theres the Zerg mission "Battle on the Amerigo" which has a cool cinematic:

*A division of 4 marines boards a Science Vessel. Its creepy, being very dark, fans moving around casting shadows: a place you do not want to be. Marines take a box marked with a radioactive sign and place it in the vessel, they open their visors, and open the box. It slowly opens, a light turning on, and there is... Beer cans in ice next to a bomb ( :P and :lol: ). All open a can and start drinking.
Marine 1: lol, theres no Zerg here...
Marine 4: Yeah right, I got your Zerg right here, lol *raises can to drink*
*claw comes down, impales marine 2 through the skull (its quite gory actually

) and drag him up to the ceiling through a fan. All other marines stand up and draw their guns. Suddenly, out of two hallways, Hunter Killers (elite hydras) come charging towards the marines, who start firing at them. However, the bullets and shells are deflected by the carapace.*
Marine 2: Activate the ****ing bomb! Do it!
*Marine 1 stops shooting at hunter killer, who managed to reach him, and raises claw. Marine slams the bomb button, and the whole science vessel blows up*

Nothing like your good old fashioned starcraft cinematics, eh?

That does look like what Blizzard can handle, but I agree with you, I doubt that is Starcraft 2.

Starcraft 2 would have better graphics

I used to play this game very much before, but my sisters kids broke the compact disc.
I will probably get it again when i have a new computer, but as for now i have a 450mhz pentium 2 to use *My mothers* and it is not fun to play games at all on it.

Of course, it would work on this computer, but not sure how good.
Would need to clean the harddrive a bit if i would go for it again, got alot of my stuff on the hd and almost taken up all space whatsoever, even if she has a 10 gb drive.

The only thing I dislike about Starcraft are the hybrids: it steals the identities of the races (esp. my favourite - Zerg) <_<

but its like dm/rm for me...
I like to play Fastest Map.
But hek, just started playing again, I suck **** at it now...
