Now this game was good
the graphics may have been basic but back in the day it was good
standard units and technologies and great game play
the music and taunts were good

received a solid 8 from me ... maybe aint great gfx but still its so addictie and was played so much you cant deny it was a game deserving of a rathing in thetop half of the range!!

I think it was an awesome game when it came out in 1998.. could you really say many other RTS's could match it when it came out?
AoK looked realistic when compared to WarCraft 2.. Can't really think of any other RTS games around then.. plus it gets extra points for still being played around the world even today

i gave it a "8"... i still go back to it occasionly and play... i really do think that it is the best game of its time... and it has stood up to time nad still thrives now.... you cant compare it to games like KO and wow, becasue it is a diffrent platform, how many realtime stratagies are there no?

Despite what some people might say, AOK isn't really all that great of a game. I actually prefer the graphics to what civilization III has done, making it all really realistic, etc. The point of the game was strategy, and that was done very well. The small points, for example, how archers are better on higher ground, are what makes the game good.

The main game campaigns, etc. aren't all that great..the online play is why this game was so popular. Even so, if AOK wasn't on zone, it wouldn't have been that popular at all. If a game like Counterstrike was on the zone, then it would be 10x more popular because of the way clans can interact, etc.

Anyways, thats just what I think. The fact that AOK was on zone probably doubled its popularity. The Zone is what allowed the clans to do well and to have all those kewl flame wars =) So thats my opinion on it, good strategy game, not really much else.

i gave it a 10 for its addiction skillz and it gives a variety of games like cs rm and dm

my opinion on aoe 3 is that it will be ust like halo 2 in which it wont be that great at all and only the scenarios will be fun

well i dont care much about old skool styles and games i care about old skool people playing this game if only we still had old skooler's who went on to play to compete and have fun and not flame. that would make this game an easy 8 9 or 10

im old school to started in 2000 playing dm and rm then learned bloods and became a high inter ltr into a expert then xtream now ive quit ok tho it got way to * and boring
