Yea in New Zealand we have had coloured money for as long as i can remember :S The Aussie money is ugly, spose you would get used to it though.
Getting new lighter coins next year that should be good.

yeh, we got a picture of the Queen of England on our $5 bill, which kills that. the $10 has a dude on it who i dunno so thats alright. and i don't have any other notes in my wallet to check :P

Great thing about colored is u don't need to read it, just look at the color and say "it's blue, it's a 5." B)

Yeah...I agree with the Waffler. You can see a bill and tell the amount by the color. If its a 'Bold 5 or 10' it still won't be very visible from far away. The color stands out.

Probably - but if your further away that you can't distinguish the 5, then how are you going to give the other person the money?
 Money is for getting, and giving away - not for looking at: we have TVs, computers and art galleries for that.
