I have two views on this.
1) its a good thing for public people the chances of cancer through passive smoking have been cut dramatically
2) its bad for Pub Owners they are going to lose customers because many people enjoy a cigarette during a drink or a meal.

But all in all its a good thing that the chances of cancer have been cut so i am glad that the law has been passed.

Personally i think its pointless.

i mean seriously have you been to a pub where they have a smoking area right next to a non smoking area..........they say the Air-Conditioning is wat makes these area's safe.

yea ok...........if someone is standing near you smoking and it offends you then move or ask them if they wouldnt mind moving.

1) Why Do You Capitalize The Beginning Of Every Word?
2) you have a greater chance of being killed by lightning than you do of dying from the occassional second hand smoke
3) its retarded and i really dislike having to stand out in the rain to smoke

First of all I've gotta say that the way you capitalized the beginning of each word there made that hard for me to read for some reason, dunno why. Don't do it again please, my eyes hurt now.

Okay, I think that bans on public smoking are good in some situations, and bad in others. If you're in a crowded area like an amusment park or a museum, you shouldn't have to smell smoke all the time. Second hand smoke isn't gonna kill you, but it's just stupid for you to be uncomfortable breathing in air when people could just step outside to smoke.

Then there's this whole thing on banning in resturants. Second hand smoke isn't a matter of public health, so I think this should be up to the resturant owner. If I want to make a bar and say "Okay, this is a smoking bar, you can smoke anywhere" I should be able to do that, I'll just have to accept the lose of customers that hate smoking. On the other hand, I could make a smoke free resturant and accept the lose of smokers. Or maybe I'll make a smoking section and non-smoking and my costumers can decide if they're comfortable with that or not.

The point is that it should be up to the resturant owner whether they allow smoking or not, and people need to choose which resturant they go to accordingly. It's that simple. Now some people walk into a resturant, see smoke, and think "Man I hate having to breath in smoke. Instead of just leaving a finding a different place to eat, I think I'll force these people to stop smoking for my own benefit." Thus, smoking bans are implemented.

See where I'm going with this? Second hand smoke isn't going to harm you, so it should simply be a matter of preference. Forcing resturant owners to stop smoking in their own bar is ridiculous.
