Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII takes place after the events of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, following the life of character Vincent Valentine, and his quest to uncover the truth about himself. Sounds great right? We forgave Square for Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy XI, but once again, they've turned a great concept into what can only be described as garbage. They throw you into the shoes of Vincent Valentine, the insanely cool vampire from the original game, and give you a gun. You then proceed to shoot the bad guys until you beat the game. Essentially, that is it. You go through each of the disappointly short levels and shoot guys. But wait! Sometimes the guys are tigers! Sometimes the guys are flying! With such as variety of enemies, who would ever suspect the game to get boring?

Stay out of our game, damnit.</span>

Now for the clincher. If you're a fan of the FFVII universe, you must play this game. I'm sorry, but it's true. Continuing the story is just too important to pass up. If you can manage the game in between the very impressive cut-scenes, you may just finish the game without putting the gun to your own head.

Final Score: 6.5/10 <span style=\'color:red\'>D+
