(im new and hope this is the rigth section if not can it be moved to the right place? thanks.)

For me it’s really close between the PS3 and the X-Box 360. Although, I'm leaning towards the x-box 360 because the online and the developers that are with them are good. Although on paper the PS3 is more powerful, ultimately the best system is yet to be decided.

The current online features for the xb360 are awesome so far. Gamer tags and profiles sound like they will actually be used and be effective in matching you will either the competitive or the casual gamers. For me I’d be in the competitive section because I'm always wanting the latest game and mastering moves and techniques and finally beating my enemies.

The controller for the PS3 looked very odd at first and many will instantly think that it’s a major mistake, although I’ve read that it is very comfortable in the hands. So really it seems that it wasn’t a mistake after all, of course I’d still have to hold it and decide for myself.
Also the xb360 controllers look to have improved also with getting rid of the black and white buttons and adding the buttons on the top, much like the PS2's except there’s only one set, or like L1 and R1. Then behind that there’s two more buttons. I've seen and read that they are going to bring many new things to games by being able to develop with them but I have yet to see an actual game example.

well i hope that the xb360 still has triggers. which i bet it will, because it has to.

also black and white buttons gone?
replacing them with buttons on top?
i dunno about that.

I'm leanin towards XBOX 360 being better because the PS3 controller looks kinda stupid.

The PS3 is more powerful on paper, and as we've seen, has a larger and better choice of games.

Your basing your opinion on the way the controller "looks"?

I think the xbox controller looks "kinda stupid", but alot of people like it.

But my vote goes for PS3, even thou this isn't a poll <_<

and if the PS3 is backward compatiable with the PS2 and PS1, then we'll be able to use the dualshock 2 if this new controller turns out to be as bad as people think it looks..

who cares bout the controler ull get used to it i just hoep they make a better headset because the headsets we use now suck they breck to easy mines screwed up now and duno when ill get a new one also ps has always had better games and thats all i ever cared about not the graphics or the specs but the games

X-Box 360 will own i mean look at X-box when it came out just blew PS2 out the water. X-Box 360's gonna have Halo 3 , Morrowind: Oblivion (Which will pwn ur face

) and other great titles which primarily focus around FPS's.

X-Box 360's where im putting my money.

the x-box blew the ps2 looks out of the water maybe but with 5 x-boxs they were big and heavy enough to build a house they were huge!

ps3 got my vote looks amazing always has better games only one game x-box got and thats halo rest are pap

god ur all such retards. ps2 has more games and better games than xbox? uh uh. i think not children. the only way this got around ws because there were many games for ps2 when xbox jus came out. xbox has been out for wt, 3+ years now? there r liek over 500 games out for xbox and at least 100 slam any ps2 game ;] the only games ps2 has which r gd and xbox hasnt got is gran turismo and final fantasy. xbox 360 will have final fantasy so ps2 hasnt really got nething over xbox nemore ;] nuff said.

yup ps3 is backwards compatible with all previous ps1 and ps2 stuff. Ps3 is supposably able to run at 120 fps...

Plus ps3 wins in every spec that ive seen or ties..

yeah ps3 has way better specs, and when u run ps1 or ps2 games on ps3, itll actually enhance the graphics nd make it look better due to better filtering etc.

specs wont make ne difference ;/ it will look exactly the same on the screen, u wont b able to tell the difference. and the graphics wont get much better on old console version games..

yeh, you won't notice much difference unfortunately ownz.

all it will be is faster loading time, less lag, pretty much zero jagged lines.

I think when looking at specs though, you gotta realise that hardware will not be a limiting factor for either system untill a few years from now.
it's estimated around 2007/8 software developers will start realising the potential of the XBOX360, so uptill then the raw power of both systems won't show up.
it's like having two 800hp racecars, but the road speed limit is 50mph - you won't notice the difference.

I think in 5, 6 years we'll see the long term pwnage of the PS3. look at it this way - when they PS2 came out so did Tekken tag. its been several years later and we now have tekken 5 - same hardware but you can see how back then they simply didnt know how to make games that could push the system to its limits.

ps3 i think will own xbox 360 easy ...... depending on the prices will be the big thing ... 360 has had a head start ... wen theese 2 start gettin cheaper in the shops i think people will prefer the ps3

the reason peeps might buy the xbox is coz the previos 1 was better than the ps2 but rember it came out after the ps2 so had more to get better upgrades ect. but this time sony kno wat to expect

I go with PS3, cuz better specs, more exclusive games and some better in my opinion, potentialy better online play at least over the PS2(no service like Live, but an improvement in coding is there), potential for better and more physics for games, potential for better graphics.

I am PS3 biased, but I will get a X-box 360 by 2007 for next Halo installment and maybe Too Human, Gears of War, maybe some others. I know Live has all that extra stuff for online play, but its really not necessary to pay 50 bucks a year for, but its required so I will pay it. PS online is free and its diverse, each developer that makes a game makes online play their own way. Some that have no experience just slap something together, like Gamespy crap that they put into Smackdown Vs. Raw, and SvR2006.
