Grand Theft Auto IV Release Date: Oct 16, 2007 The best-selling freestyle crime series changes platforms for the first time in years with Grand Theft Auto IV. Genre: Third-person action Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Release Date: Q4 2007 Guns of the Patriots marks the debut of Konami's popular Metal Gear series on the PS3. Genre: Third-person stealth action Resident Evil 5 Release Date: TBA 2007 Capcom continues the Resident Evil franchise on the next generation platforms. Genre: Survival/horror third-person shooter Resistance: Fall of Man Release Date: Nov 17, 2006 Resistance: Fall of Man is a first-person shooter from Insomniac. Genre: First-person shooter/survival/horror Final Fantasy XIII Release Date: TBA 2007 Final Fantasy XIII is the first installment in the best-selling series of role-playing games from Square Enix to appear on the PlayStation 3. Genre: Action role-Playing game Tekken 6 Release Date: TBA 2006 Tekken is the next installment in Namco's popular 3D fighting series. Genre: Fighting Star Wars: Force Unleashed (working title) Release Date: TBA 2007 The next Star Wars game from LucasArts employs next-gen technology to bring the Force to life in an explosive new way. Genre: Third-person action Tony Hawk's Project 8 Release Date: November 17th 2006 Tony Hawk skates onto Next-Gen systems with Tony Hawk's Project 8. Genre: Sports Call of Duty 3 Release Date: November 17th 2006 Call of Duty 3 continues the series of World War II shooters from Infinity Ward and Activision. Genre: Historic First-Person Shooter NBA Live 07 Release Date: Nov 17, 2006 The NBA Live series makes its debut on the PS3 with NBA Live 07. Genre: Third-person shooter Heavenly Sword Release Date: TBA (some say 2006, others 2007) Dubbed "Goddess of War", this action title dubbs beautiful graphics with lots of cinematic combat. Genre: Action Rainbow Six: Vegas Release Date: November 17th, 2006 The realistic squad based first-person shooter makes it's first next-gen debut in the world of gambling. Genre: Tactical First-Person Shooter Mercenaries 2: World in Flames Release Date: TBA 2007 The "sandbox" war action with open-ended gameplay returns in a PS3 exclusive sequel. Ha...sonic for the Playstation?? If even half of that list comes out near release like they say they might that would be really nice. Really good wide range of game types to best but the new gfx to the test.

Hey EMP. I appreciate your help with the console forum, but in the future we should add each other on MSN and discuss new topics to post. Many of these titles were correct, but a few launch dates were missed and some of the genre's confused. I also added quite a few other anticipated PS3 titles.

Umm, Heavenly Sword, Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, Silent Hill 5, and Rainbow Six Vegas?
Those are highly anticipated games as well :S

I'm not adding Silent Hill. First of all, it's still a rumoured game. We have no idea if Konami is going to make the game or not. Secondly, I only add the game if it has media.
