Greetings good folks of the forum!

I recently downloaded the game but I'm experiencing lots of strange errors. I queried (politely) about it ingame in the Newbie help channel to see whether such issues were common, but was told to "stfu and don't play". But that's okay- I've played enough MMORPGs to know what the general ingame populace considers "good manners", and I know that they don't represent the nicest majority of people who play. But forum-goers do!

I like the general look and promise of the game, so I decided to not give up and see if I can get some more intellectual help. I tend to find forums a good place to find friendly people who are willing to help initiate new people into a game, and so here I am.

Anyways, my issues are graphical in nature. I experience lots of stuttering- the animations of characters in the Login screen are very 'speedy' and juttery. The clouds moving across the sky don't drift, but jump erratically. Also, controlling the camera with a mouse seems impossible, as it jumps wildly and is near impossible to face in the direction I want, forcing me to use the keyboard arrow keys, which work well. I also noticed that the ground around my character was accumulating graphical garbage over time.


My system specs are as follows:

AMD64 (Dual Core) 2.3GHz
2GB RAM
GeForce 7800GTX (256mb)
500k Cable Modem connection


My graphics drivers and DirectX are up-to-date, and my bandwidth is not being consumed by other intensive applications while trying to play this. I do highly suspect, however, that the crux of the problem may be the dual core processor. However, I am running 32-bit Windows, which would lead me to believe this shouldn't be causing problems. But I don't know for sure.

The downloaded setup file for the game has been checked for corruption and it's all good as far as I can tell. I've tried both fullscreen and windowed modes, 'render sky' on and off, graphics details low and high. None of those affected the issues experienced.

I'm hoping that you may have heard of these things before and could offer some help, but if not, I guess I'll just have to continue searching for a decent MMORPG to fill up my time. Hopefully, though, I can play this.

well, ive heard the game doesnt like that specific processor u named. But i think someone had a solution for it, i'll have to find the thread it was in.

Yeah, you can also try posting on the Official Games Forums For Help too. But yeah try and wait for Dark, and we'll see what happens

This helped very much. First I tried using the Taskmanager method but that made the game completely unplayable, so I downloaded the program from http://www.robpol86.com/Pages/imagecfg.php and now the game runs like a charm.

Quite an interesting little thing, too. My only complaint would be that the newbie tutorials seem somewhat redundant- by the time you're high enough level to survive what they ask you to do, you're no longer so green as to need 'basic fighting' quests. :P

look at the blue mage stand still it looks like it has duck feet because the legs are together but the feet are pointing away from each other.
