your style...... and every other 15 year old who used photoshop in the last 2 years.

the grunge cloud brush phase went out of style in april, get with the times.

people finally realized that spamming a brush and changing hue/saturation didn't involve any real design knowledge, as long as you could balance the colors. it's all about photorealism now.

Oh btw i'm not following the latest fashion in designing so i don't care what's in and what's out right now, i'm just creating what looks good in my eyes.

The green one looks prtty good, but the big white spot just makes it look... empty, UNLESS your putting a render there or something.

yah you are right.. it does look little empty i would add text there.. dno about render.. it would destroy the whole sig.

and well I would really try to take his advise if I were you nactoble, Banned is probally one of the best designers I know, espcially when it comes to photo shop, sig making is pretty easy and what banned did with graphic design went a whole lot further, funny thing is he is an actual architect and its what he doing for a living, he was only giving constructive critisism I suggest you take his advice and stop throwing insults back at him, because clearly clearly your not in his league

Ok, sorry i didn't mean to throw insults back at him but it just pisses me off if someone is saying some harsh criticism when he can't do better.. but this case is different.. i believe Banned is alot ALOT ALOT better than me with Photoshop or with anything near designing..
But those were kinda harsh criticisms imo so that's why i wasn't that happy.. but yeh i would like to hear some advices.

you just need to expand your horizons and keep your mind open to criticism. i used to be just like you, every sig i'd make would have some sort of grunge cloud effect or a 3d render and i was quite happy with it, infact i've probably produced 30'ish brush packs from 2-3 years of sig making. however it wasn't until one day when i was reading pixel2life for new ideas when i found a really simple tutorial of changing an ordinary picture into a sunset. i took an ordinary beach picture

and turned it into

you see unlike grunge style, when you're working with something real you always have a basis for self constructive criticism. i can tell you that the lense flare used for the sun is crappy and my 30 second clouds are horrible. however one point of the excersize that i was quite happy with was the color balance. it's almost FLAWLESS. one thing you always want to do no matter what you're working on is the color and contrast. looking at your current grunge sig, the easiest way to judge that is to split it directly down the middle, then apply a moderate gaussian blur. just by looking at the portion of black on the left side vs the portion of black on the right side, it's obvious that your black stripe down the right edge is too big.

In my field of work I design buildings (usually condo's, apartments.) . However because of my previous photoshop/bently/3dsm knowledge I also got attached to the graphic design portion of my office. So usually when I'm finishing with a project I get assigned to creating an accurate graphic representation of what I just designed, and when you're in an industry full of critics and interior designers you have to get EVERY detail perfect down to the tiniest shades and contrasts. I'm used to recieving harsh criticism and it makes my work better. You'd be a lot better as well if you listened to mine.

well, your current sig is -OK-, the trees in the back are good, but the eye looking thing in the middle is sorta 'meh'.

this is about as simple as you can get. VERY simple brushing in the bg, definately not overbrushed. classic simplicity. great color blending.
minimal and perfect.

all you really want to accomplish is the term "less is more." overbrushing is a huge problem with grunge and a lot of people make that mistake, so unless you're working on a huge project (1280 or 1600), try to keep it SIMPLE.

here's some more examples of clean, simple, great sigs.

great text matching with a perfect pattern. looks like the surface of a real backpack.

vectoring is always hot. i'd recommend learning how to do it and atleast create one work with this technique.

the gradient matches the soft curves perfectly and the tree gives it some contrast.

great example of color blending and contrast

this one's ok, great use of contrasting grays and a decent render.. but the drop shadow on the text is too big.

and the last one is probably my favorite image out of my 10'ish minute search. you'll have to click on it but it's a great style that i think you should atleast play around with.

Hmm, reminds me of vector sorta... idk.. seems kind of dull to me.
