There are 8 teams:

Sydney FC
Central Coast Mariners
New Zeaaland Knights
Perth Glory
Melbourne Victory
Adelaide United
Queensland Roar
Newcastle Jets

It started out on Friday night when Central Coast beat Perth 1-0, mad goal from more then 30 metres out.

Anyway I went to the Sydney FC game at Aussie Stadium vs Melbourne, it has capacity 40.000, and we got 25 000 for our 1st home game.

The game itself was good, Dwight Yorke scored before half time with a diving header to the side, before Melbourne scored in the 73rd minute, result 1-1.

Overall crowd from the 4 games: around 70000

thats not bad at all.

That attendace should drop soon tho when the hype dies down how old is yorke now he must be pushing on abit did you watch him in the premiership what an awesome player for man u. Then he was rubbish when he left them.

It's called a marquee signing, who attracts fans to watch the game, hes got 2 goals from the 2 games hes played, and 1 from 1 in the actual season, so he is doing something.

They only have it on Fox Sports in Australia lol. Syndey are playing Central Coast Friday night. I would go but I gotta watch the Sydney Swans vs St Kilda in the AFL Preliminary Final, if the Swannies win they are in the final!

its not rugby, this involves kicking skill and a hell of a lot of running, a midfielder gets through about 14k+ a game. A goal=6 points, behind=1.

Similar to Gaelic football, just we have no soccer net in the goal with the big posts, and the ball is a rugby ball, but more light and easier to kick and handball.

But we are the maddest kickers of a football in any type of football, we can kick at more than 55 metres, and afl requires low kicks, torpedoes, some freaks even kick it 70 when they get on it nicely.
