Hmm well u only just managed to beat a team that isnt even in the world cup <_< . I doubt england will win, maybe get to the semis.

France certainly will not win they are FAR too old. They may be good but I dont think they can even come close to winning the world cup, neither can England as although they have the players they dont work well as a unit and have a manager who leaves alot to be desired.

As for the game I was most impressed by the uruguay defender when he calmly placed the ball in the top corner from 25 yards. Normally you would expect defenders to throw their foot at the ball and just tonk it over, but he kept his balance, composure and technique to strike a beautiful outside of the foot volley. Anyway England dominated apart from that, and Coles finish was certainly good with Crouch the giant heading the equaliser.

Yea France are a good team, but the problem with them are there defence are all old bastards and will get out paced, Zidanes past it, Pires is playin crap recently, viera - well he's just a long streak of piss, silvest - like thier only youngish defender and he's crap. Trezeguet, ive never rated him and Henry yea fine he's one of the best strikers in the world but can underperform in big games.

Now look at englands team:-

Robinson - one of the best keepers in prem

Neville - exspirienced right back that knows how to play

Terry - arguably the best defender in the world

Ferdinand - One of the best defenders in the world

Campbell - exspirienced defender, was one of the best in the world

Ashley cole - one of the best left backs in the world

Beckham -one of the best passeres,crossers and freekick takers in the world

Lampard - arguably the best midfielder in the world

Gerrard - same applies

Joe cole - awesome player, can run with the ball,score goals, good crosser

Owen - pacey striker, was one of the best in the world - move to newcastle might have ruined him

Rooney - The most technically gifted striker in the world, defences cant handle him, cant take free kicks, scores all sorts of goals and even helps defend

Crouch - a biglong bastard but is good with his head and technically gifted

England have a great chance at winning it, better than france anyway

I agree with most of what you say but defo not the bit about Newcastle ruining Owen ... they just had a bad manager and will bounce back. Rio is not one of the worlds best defenders, id defo have carragher in the team atm hes been in incredible form.

I disagree, owen even admitted himself that he wasn't too eager to move to newcastle and i think that him not having quite the ambition to play like he did at real and liverpool is ruining him. Also, i think carragher is VERY over-rated, he's a good defender but the defence he has around him at liverpool(a solid unit) makes him look alot better than he is.

Puyol is much better than him.. Barcelona's defense sucks if puyol is not playing..

Chelsea has Carragher, Del Horno, Ferreira, Gallas. He does have a Backup..

learn to play as a team and I will believe we can do something we always have had a good squad but we dont play well together so it aint going to happen although england played well the other night they still aint convinced me they can get to the final.

Yea holland have been on fire lately, they are the team to beat, and in my eyes(performance wise) have the best chance of winning the world cup along with brazil. Also like virus said, Englang will make it difficult for themselves, they always do, lets just hope this year will be different.

gerard needs to stop being held back and allowed a free role
same for lampard
perhaps sumone like ledley king as a holding midfielder
sacrifice joe cole gives beckham, gerard, and lampard chance to get forward and help rooney and owen

England do rely on rooney alot but they aint a 1 man team, thats completely wrong, England can play without him, and have done in the past. Gerrard shouldn't be help back into dm role but what should sven do with 2 of the best midfielders in the world that play simular? leave one out and put some tard like king in to protect the defence? its a difficult position, can't sacrifice cole coz there wud be gerrard or lampard on left and niether of them play there. I think england should stick as they are but Gerrard nd Lampared sort it out between themselves, who goes forward and who stays back - in games this is, not actually put in either of them in a set position, let them swap :/

if either one of gerard and lampard stay back both their performances are affected becoz the keep worrying where each other are... both are great at attacking and shud be used to drive fear into opponents but instead the can guess what we do everytime

lol rooney aint that good for england I dont think. we have no attackers full stop we need a scorer up front rooney is abit but is better behind the strikers in a free role position.

I think if we play more as a team and get some decent strikers we can make a decent bid for the world cup.

but thats a big IF and BUT.
