I hate the Italian Soccer Team, I don't have anything against the citizens though. The game included a stupid referee, and all their players were horrible. I hate them all so much.

France has had so many problems with Italy's cheap fouls, and all the same the referee was blinded to see anything. The Italian goalie is a good guy and is the only one that deserves respect. Good Job Zidane! Headed the guy in the chest, should've aimed in the face though.

Can't wait for those soccer videos, to point out all the unseen fouls by the Italians. They are the worst team in World Cup history in sportsman like conduct. I even went outside and screamed that the Italian Soccer Team sucks and should not be anywhere at the top, until they clean their act and start playing "real" soccer. Zidane did not only Head the guy because of how the Italian player held him, but also because of everything that has happened. Pushing, Holding down, and hand balling.

Here are some strange sightings.

1. When Zidane headed the guy he recieved a red card when the ref did not even see the foul. If he didn't see the hit and gave Zidane a red card, then why did the Italian who held him not recieve a card for holding on a free kick?

2. One of the French players was about to head a corner kick right in front of the net, if you find a replay you can see an Italian player, deliberatly pulling the player down, so he could not reach the ball with his head. It was an open shot and he would've scored had he hit it.

3.There were a couple moments with hand balls. At one moment there had been a kick to an Italian player near the French net. The ball bounced, and hit off his arm. Both French players around him had immediately raised their hands for a hand ball, but the Italian continued, and even kicked the ball. Funny thing is that after, he hurt himself and started complaining although none of the French players were even paying attention because they thought the Italians lost possession because of the hand ball.

4. One time an Italian tripped, French players were trying to get possession of the ball, and the Italian covered the ball, pushing it closer to him with his hands. Although the French still recieved a free kick, Italian displayed very bad sportmanship.

There were many more bad things that Italy did, which don't catch my mind right now. To all you Italy fans, I don't mind you, but I mind you're team.

italy won..but there was just like 14 cars rollin down the street in front my house with french flags out the sun roofs..screamin an cheering..i thought they lost tho?..why were those people happy...an how come i didnt never seen french people in my town ;o

damn I wish I had cable/dish to see the world cup.. woulda if I wasn't working either... well. Shootout :S Was there even overtime or did they just go right into a shootout?

lol the final was on abc, no need for cable or a dish. although it was disappointing that espn carried most of the games in the group play and quarterfinals..

2 15 minute overtimes before the shootout

Did any1 watch the Italy vs Aussie game... Italy were much better... They deserved to win even if that penalty wasnt a foul.

Italy deserved to win the final too, had probably the best defence in the competition and outplayed france especially in the first half.

Well eh the australia player,emerton i believe, lay down in front of grosso all emerson had to do was stay on his feet, the tard, he wasnt even near the ball grosso went down over him...can u name any proffesional player who wudnt go down in that circumstance? No...gg...gb

You should blame bret emerton for just lieing on front of the italian.The italians were more hungry for it and deserved to win,france wudnt have broken down that defence,they got a cheap penalty <_<

You know, Italy has good players. But a horrible tactic. They shouldn't even be there after how bad they player in sportsmanship. If you actually watched the game and looked everywhere, you could see how cheap and unfair Italy played. Im already looking for a replay of the match.

LMFAO have u even looked at the stats for that game?

australia had more of the ball, they had more chances and generally looked better, and who the **** was talking about emerson?

Well, I thought it was a good game to watch. Though the fouls and cards might not have been fair, the game went long and both teams played fine IMO. If I remember correctly, this is the 2nd time in history that a World Cup Championship game has been decided by a shootout after 2 rounds of 15 minute OT.

Anyways, I thought France was going to win...But I was wrong

france deserved to win..

general, italy controlled the first 25 mins. and not all =/..

france controlled part of the first half, whole second half and the two 15 mins =/

italy sucks ass.. they just defend like little *****es and never attack..

france had to win.. but oh well.. pure luck =/

... What is this guy talking about, sure australia had more possession but how often does the team with less possession win in football... all the ****ing time.

And with that possession did Australia have more shots??? more shots on goal??? ... oh thats right Italy won both those stats.

And lol at looking better, dont comment on a game when you clearly didnt watch it. I was supporting Aussie but all through that match it looked like they were decent players putting up a fight vs much better ones.

And yes poiz that head butt was harsh.

The first person who posted on here your biased against Italy
It was 50/50 possesion
Italy controlled the first 20 mins easily, even if france did get the goal by a peno.
After that france had a few attacks none at this time made a troubling save for buffon they were all easy saves, this carried on for about 10 mins and it was generally just a possesion game until half time.
France came out a renewed team as henry rushed past everyone, this turned into frances game until with 20 mins to go, then it was a possesion game again then italy had a few attacks and france did very few threatening.
It went into injury time by this point some were looking tired, injury time henry got subbed which i was confussed about, but it seemed he was tired.
Also zidane who was by far the greatest performer in that world cup got a red card which the 4th official saw btw.
From this it was end to end, even if france had 10 men they played with spirit
They did lose penalties - which no keeper saved any peno, just trezeguet hit the bar ( tried a zidane )
Anyway Italy deserved to win as much as anyone at the end of the day, dont forget they had to get past the favourites in the semis, the host country Germany which to win 2-0 was good.

Oh well, I saw this topic a bit late... anyways heres my opinion:

Italy deserved to win, altho Zidane is an awsome player (was my favorite), probably the best French player ever; anyways, i think Italy did an amazing job and if u dont like how they play its ur problem, its a way of playing the game, and they won, as drunkninja said, they only recieved 2 goals in the whole competition... And also how they beat Germany, was unbeliavable, in 2 minutes they had the game, amazaing counter attacks.

valar, how can u say italy deserved to win.. the only reason they only received 2 goals is because they had to play vs weak teams :S.. or just kinda good teams

with no accuracy lol.

vs germany it was pure luck.. oh well this is old so forget it :lol:
