Whenever I type Regedit in Run it brings up a black prompt(?) screen and then it gives an error says it's illegal or some crap. Any ideas? My brother wasn't sure and he knows all about computers. I ran a whole bunch of virus, spyware whatever things and still nothing. Any help is most appeciated.

Hi _Glz1m_,

How strange.

If you've run Virus, Ad, Spy and Mal --ware checks (AVG, Spybot and Ad-Aware !) -- then that's .. yes.

Try replacing your reg-edit program ( found at \WINDOWS\system32\regedt32.exe ).

Also, try running that program from the Command Prompt, and see what happens. What's the actual error?

Are you using Service Pack 2, and the Windows-Update Software?

Let me know,
Cheers,
Dave.

1. check spelling
