I have 256 megs of ram, if i buy a 512 megs stick, will it vastely improve my CPUs performance?

hell yeah, i had 512 before now i got 1.5 gb and it runs hell a lot faster

U can never have enough ram, unless it's like over 3gb

depends much on the computer u have and how many Rams the computer can have in it.. i baught a mother board with wich can have 4 Gb of Ram i have 3,5 GB of ram in it now... also need to find right rams for the computer to make it run faster...

Microsoft is correct. Make sure the RAM stick you are about to buy is compatible with your motherboard, and doesn't go over its limit. An older motherboard may only support SD RAM, while a much newer motherbaord may support DDR2 RAM. The differences include number of pins, and width.

Motherbaords also have a limit on the amount of memory allowed. Don't go over this limit.
