hmmm... has this just happened recently or have you had trouble for a while?

IF your suing a web-accelorator (eg. Google Web Accelerator, or any other Proxy Server tool) try turning it off, re-opining your browser and trying again.

also, does www.microsoft.com work?

If you don't want to format, try windows System Restore. Just restore you computer to like 10 months ago. You'll keep all your files, but other stuff like installations will revert back to how they were ten months ago.

thats why when i reformat i use a disk image program to create an image of my hd with all my default progs and the ones i always instll on it, that way i can recreate it if i install alot more and still have no errors, if errors then restore back to the most recent one!! it works perfectly!!
