.::: Information :::.

BioShock is the "genetically enhanced" first person shooter that lets you do things never before possible in the genre: turn everything into a weapon, biologically mod your body with plasmids, hack devices and systems, upgrade your weapons and craft new ammo variants, and experiment with different battle techniques in an incredible and unique underwater city.

You are a cast-away in Rapture, an underwater Utopia torn apart by civil war. Caught between powerful forces, and hunted down by genetically modified “splicers” and deadly security systems, you have to come to grips with a deadly, mysterious world filled with powerful technology and fascinating characters. No encounter ever plays out the same, and no two gamers will play the game the same way.

BioShock is loaded with some of greatest, most modifiable weapons to ever blast their way into a shooter. But guns alone won’t be enough to defeat the devious AIs of Rapture. There are literally hundreds of other strategies players can use to take out his enemies. Here’s just a few things you can do a foe:

# Catch his Grenades in Mid Air and Toss Them Back at Him
# Freeze Him Solid and Shatter Him with Smack of your Wrench
# Lead him and his comrades to water and Zap them all with 1000 Volts
# Burn Him Up With Home-Made Molotov Cocktails
# Booby Trap Healing Machines and Watch Them Blow up IN his Face
# Brainwash Him to Become Your Personal BodyGuard
# Invent your own Ammo Types to Prey on his Vulnerabilities
# Turn his own Security System Against Him
# Light Him on Fire and Launch Heat Seeking Missiles At him
# Torment Him with Plagues of Insects
# Take Research Photos of Him to Learn his Weaknesses
# Send Him Flying into the Ceiling to Knock him Senseless

No encounter ever plays out the same way twice. No two gamers will ever play BioShock the same way.

Here is the Website.

Cool!

There are so many modern FPS's that it seems as though they all blend together.

There is definitely an element of originality in this one.

I may check out the PC version.

A new rumor say a demo is coming out today... I highly doubt it though.

The demo was great (in my opinion). Everyone's saying "it was too short", but if it was any longer it would ruin your whole experience if you buy it. All-in-all, I'm buying this no matter what (already pre-ordered).

It was short, but the point was to bring it to the casual gamer. Most hardcore gamers are already set, but if Irrational (2K Boston) don't want these games to fail like their System Shocks (Which were amazing games but always overshadowed. First one was overshadowed by Doom I, 2nd was overshadowed by Half-Life, and now, Bioshock, might well be overshadowed by all these other amazing games coming out.), they better bring it out and publicize. This could well be the next Killer App on the 360.

P.S. There are already some reviews, they said the game is amazing, and they couldn't let the controller down. I listened to some podcasts, pretty happy people.

Got Limited Edition at EB.

Damn this game is hard on normal even :/. Big Daddies are tough S.O.B's and they are pissing me off. Anyways, I'm going for a little girl rescue mission throughout the whole game.

Well according to everyone I've spoken to today, it lives up to the hype!

I just wish there was a store with games for sale nearby my town...

So, anything special in the Limited edition?

The soundtrack is pretty bad, 3 remixed songs with Moby and some guy(whose name I happen to forget) collaboration. I would have rather preferred to have had in-game tracks, where the eerie background music would have fit in some of my flash movies and sometimes gives me some inspiration to once in a while do some old graphics. The statue does not disappoint, unless you happened to receive one of the broken ones which 2K apologizes for and offers a new one if you ship yours back. It is quite heavy and pretty big, with some very good details. Last, is the special edition CD that features behind the scenes stuff, which is actually quite enjoyable (I lied, I still haven't watched it due to my obsessive playing O.o!). Nonetheless, I was pretty disappointed that it wasn't in a tin case and it didn't come with the art book, which can now be downloaded for free at the 2K Site.

Beat it at 4AM

This game is simply amazing ! I can't believe they could actually make the Big Daddy so interactive with the intelligent A.I. implemented. My favourite part in the whole entire game is when you are on the part facing Cohen, the guy that looks like the Jester in Batman.

In an office there is a secret button to open a door. This linear path leads you to some basement, where you find a chair with a statue sitting on it by the corner. Since you saw these statues quite frequently before, you unknowingly assume that it's nothing. I immediately looked to the left where you see the lights flickering on and off frequently, which happens quite often throughout the game. When the lights flickered on, you can see the glimpse of a weapon upgrade. Once you press the weapon upgrade and finished what you needed to do, you look behind and see a statue in the middle of the room which was not there originally. I walked right beside it and *BAM* the statue was not a statue but a spider splicer (Those crazy things that jump wall to wall) and it startled me, but I didn't jump (I play these type of games frequently, I'm used to it). This activates the fake statue A.I. I assume, and when you go in another basement in the theatre level, you see many of these things. It's funny because when you look at the wall and stuff, not looking at the statues, they move without you knowing, stopping when you look at them. You know somethings happening, but you don't know what since the room seemed to have changed. These statues, with their intelligent A.I., come closer and closer to you, trapping you in the middle O.O!

Funny thing is that the atmosphere is really amazing in this game. I just can't describe it, I'm in love ! I just wish I never beat it, so I could have the same experience over and over again, never knowing whats going to happen.

Well the games I'm looking forward to getting when they come out are Assassin's Creed and CoD4.
